CAD Permissions

What it does

• Separates configuration access from operational page access.
• Uses global responder and dispatcher page roles plus optional per-agency responder and dispatcher roles.
• Keeps owners, administrators, and Manage Server members out of operational CAD pages unless they hold the configured page role.
• Shows a member only the Responder or Dispatcher link that their roles allow.

How to configure it

1. Use Responder page roles for members who should access every agency on Responder CAD.
2. Use Dispatcher page roles for members who should dispatch every agency.
3. Inside each agency, use Responder roles and Dispatcher roles when access should be limited by department.
4. Use CAD supervisor roles only for people who should edit CAD configuration.
5. Give a supervisor a responder or dispatcher page role as well when they also need to operate CAD.
6. Save the configuration and test with a normal member account that has exactly the intended role.

Good to know

• Server owner, Administrator, and Manage Server are not CAD access shortcuts.
• CAD supervisor does not grant Responder CAD or Dispatcher CAD access.
• Channels selected for logs, panic alerts, or unit status do not grant page access.
• A member with both responder and dispatcher roles can open both separate pages.
• Removing the Discord role removes access the next time the dashboard checks the member.

Common check

If something does not work, check these first: Horizon has the needed Discord permissions, the bot role is high enough, the channel still exists, and the right staff roles are selected in Configure.
